KTM DRIVER JORDI VILADOMS LEAVES HIS MARK ON THE MOTOR CAMPUS
Jordi Viladoms is a KTM Racing driver from the town of Igualada. He was honoured by Anoia District in the person of Xavier Boquete, Chairperson of Anoia District Council for coming second in the Dakar 2014 race just behind his team mate, Marc Coma.
The day began with a visit to the various parts of the Campus in the company of Jordi Calpe (Deputy Chairperson of Anoia District Council), Josep Centellas (Councillor, Anoia District Council), Joan Serra (Mayor of Castellolí), and representatives of Igualada Motor Club. During the visit, Viladoms was able to have a close look at the building’s facilities.
Thereafter, in one of the areas set up for use as a conference room and in the presence of the media, there followed interventions by Xavier Boquete, Josep Centellas, and Jordi Viladoms. The Chairperson of Anoia District Council said that Jordi Viladoms was worthy of “double congratulations, not only for coming second in the Dakar Rally, but also for helping his team leader to win the competition.” In turn, Viladoms stated that “the facilities at the Campus bring together tools that any team or brand would need”, and that it was very important for the district to have facilities with those features.
The interventions being completed, Jordi Viladoms signed the Campus Visitors’ Book before receiving from Xavier Boquete a gift in the form of a basket containing products from the district.
There followed the inauguration of the area dubbed “La Huella del Motor” (“The Mark of the Motor”), where elite sportspeople from the motoring world who come to the Campus can leave their mark. Viladoms was the first to leave his motorcycle’s track marks, commenting: “Today I can do something for which I was always told off in the past, and today we can turn it into a party.”
